The Royal Starport, a privately owned installation, existed below Theed, a city, and was employed by both the governing figures of Naboo and its volunteer security personnel. It was situated in subterranean chambers beneath the Theed Royal Palace. Following the creation of the N-1 starfighter, the starport was moved to a location next to the Theed power generator to fulfill the starfighter's constant energy demands, and subsequently became known as the Theed Hangar. The initial site was repurposed, transforming into living quarters for the palace guards and pilots on duty.
