The conflict known as the Rout of Hensara involved a small contingent from the New Republic attempting to reclaim the Battle of Yavin from the planet Hensara III.
To evade the Imperial Strike-class cruiser named Havoc, the Battle of Yavin was forced to crash-land on Hensara III. The Havoc then deployed an AT-AT walker along with a complement of stormtroopers to locate and secure the downed vessel and its personnel, after which it retreated from the planetary system. This Imperial withdrawal presented an opportunity for the New Republic to retrieve their frigate. Consequently, Rogue Squadron, the CR90 corvette called Eridain, and the Baudo-class yacht Pulsar Skate arrived in the system. As the remaining four fighters maintained a patrol orbit, two flights of X-wings descended into the atmosphere of Hensara III.
Subsequently, the Havoc returned to the system, having modified its configuration to accommodate three squadrons of starfighters. It launched a total of 24 TIE/LN starfighters, 6 TIE Interceptors, and 6 TIE/sa bombers, with the bombers tasked to destroy the Battle of Yavin on the surface. The resulting engagement proved disastrous for the Imperial pilots, with only two surviving. The Imperial ground contingent was also eliminated. The crew of the Battle of Yavin were rescued by the Pulsar Skate, prompting the Havoc to withdraw from the system.
