The Rodian Hunting Grounds, also referred to as Etyyy in Shyriiwook, was a location situated southeast of Kachirho on the planet Kashyyyk.
Essentially, the area consisted of multiple safari enclosures. These were created by Sordaan Xris, Tripp Rar, and other Rodian hunters. These hunters had obtained authorization from the Wookiees to engage in hunting the local wildlife. In return for the hunting privileges, the Rodians were obligated to remit consistent tax payments to the Wookiees, ensuring their continued access. Over time, this place evolved into a commonly used hunting destination for big game hunters representing various species.
The Galactic Empire violated the initial agreement between the Wookiees and the Rodians upon their rise to power, divesting the Wookiees of any rights to the hunting grounds. Furthermore, they levied a substantial penalty on the Rodians for their ongoing utilization of the hunting grounds, which the Empire proclaimed as property under Imperial control. Despite this, the Rodians were not discouraged and accepted the elevated fine to maintain their hunting opportunities. Furthermore, Chiss poachers were observed in the area, which further angered both the Wookiees and the Rodians. Nevertheless, the Empire permitted the destruction of the local ecosystem by these hunters.
Ziven Tissak, a hunter, was among the four Rodians who possessed an interest in the Rodian Hunting Grounds.
The Rodian Hunting Grounds were featured in the Star Wars Galaxies video game, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before its shutdown on December 15, 2011.
