Riao Siao was a Felacatian of the female persuasion, and she was romantically involved with Reymet Autem.

In the year 23 BBY, Siao and Reymet Autem, a Human who was the son of Senate Guard Sagoro Autem, commenced a romantic relationship. Reymet's father, a man of rigid principles, disapproved of his son's choice of partner due to her different species and lower social standing. Reymet, however, recently dismissed from the Senate Guard Academy—a secret he kept from his father—was eager to defy Autem's rules and continued to see Siao. The young couple dreamed of escaping the planet together and relocating to Siao's homeworld of Felacat.
Siao and Reymet were both participants in the dangerous and illicit sport of pit racing, showing little regard for their own safety. This activity took place in the garbage pits of the Lower City. Competitors piloted custom-built pit racers, essentially gliders, down into the depths of the garbage pits to collect scales from the garbage worms residing there. The races were often interrupted by Judicial raids due to the ever-present danger of garbage canisters being ejected from the pits into orbit, which could prove fatal to the racers.
One day, Siao, Reymet, and Reymet's younger sister Lissa Autem were present at one of Reymet's races when Judicial Forces launched a raid on the garbage pit. Siao resisted arrest and was stunned by an officer, prompting Reymet to retaliate with an assault. Unbeknownst to Siao and the Autem siblings, Sagoro Autem and his partner Isaru Omin had infiltrated the crowd with the intention of rescuing his children from the raid. As the three young individuals were being apprehended, Autem and Omin revealed their identities to the Judicial officers. Autem used his authority to secure the release of Reymet and Lissa, but he callously allowed Siao to be taken away, showing no concern for her fate.
After Venco Autem, Sagoro's brother and a former convict, was released from prison and sought to reconnect with his family, Reymet was dismayed by his father's harsh treatment of his uncle and subsequently ran away from home. He tracked down Siao to the location where she was being held in custody, and she pleaded with him through the bars to help her. Reymet boldly confronted one of the guards, who threatened to imprison Reymet alongside Siao. Suddenly, Venco appeared and cleverly bribed the guards to release Siao, who was overjoyed at her liberation. The couple immediately resumed their plans to relocate to Felacat, and Venco offered to finance their journey. However, Venco requested a small favor from Reymet in return for his generosity—the access codes known only to Senate Guards. Reymet, unaware of his uncle's criminal past, was impressed by Venco's apparent kindness and agreed to his terms. Since Reymet's own codes had been invalidated due to his expulsion from the Academy, he provided Venco with his father's access codes, a fact that Autem was unaware his son knew.
Shortly after, Reymet was confronted by his father while preparing to leave with Siao, and he learned the full extent of Venco's misdeeds: the orchestration of two assassinations, one successfully executed and one still in progress, aimed at preventing the passage of the Financial Reform Act, which sought to prevent the Galactic Republic from falling apart. Autem permitted his son to depart, and he and Siao ultimately succeeded in leaving the planet.
