Relik moons

The Relik moons existed within the region known as the Outer Rim Territories. During 382 BBY, specifically two months after beginning a tour through the Outer Rim, the collection of moons was visited by Jedi Knight Azlin Rell accompanied by his astromech droid, designated C-9. On one of these moons, C-9 detected an unusual charged alloy and subsequently utilized it in the construction of a new manipulator arm for itself. This specialized arm possessed heightened sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, occasionally granting C-9 greater insight than its Jedi master, prompting the droid to jokingly suggest the name "Jedi hat" for the new appendage.

Later that year, while investigating the compound belonging to the Path of the Open Hand cult on the Outer Rim planet Dalna, Rell reflected on his and C-9's time spent on one of the moons. This investigation was conducted on behalf of Jedi Master Zallah Macri and Jedi Padawan Kevmo Zink, with whom the Jedi Order had lost communication.

Behind the scenes

The Relik moons received a mention in the young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit, which was released in 2022. Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton authored the novel as a contribution to Phase II of the larger Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
