Ray accelerator

A Ray accelerator functioned as a multi-purpose processor, finding utility within blasters. Its capabilities allowed for adjustments to both the firing speed and energy output of a VM-19 heavy blaster pistol. Furthermore, it served as a component in the creation process of ion smoke grenades.

In 3 ABY, the Quarren merchant rogue Shuma traded ray accelerators for 210 credits across diverse planets, operating from her Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport. In that year, a Pantoran named Belo Roovin on Toshara and an Aqualish named Lunda Nyside on Akiva also sold ray accelerators at the same price point.

Kay Vess utilized ray accelerators to enhance her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol and to build ion smoke bombs during 3 ABY.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of ray accelerators was as weapon enhancement parts within the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.
