Qulok's Fist was a criminal organization that was active in the early years of the New Republic era. This group, consisting of four individuals—Thanis Gul-Rah, Kolig, Padak, and Sufar—was known for participating in a variety of illegal activities, such as slave trafficking, mercenary services, smuggling, and the practice of bounty-hunting. Functioning as their base of operations, mode of transportation, and primary combat vessel, they utilized a customized YT-1300 light freighter known as the Steel Fist. Their operations spanned across the Outer Rim Territories, the Minos Cluster, and the Kathol sector. In the year 8 ABY, Moff Kentor Sarne, the warlord commanding the Kathol sector, hired Qulok's Fist to monitor the movements of the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar. Because the FarStar was actively pursuing Sarne after he was forced to escape from his capital city, Sarne engaged Qulok's Fist to supply intelligence and, on one occasion within the Shintel system, to directly attack the corvette.

In the early years of the New Republic, Qulok's Fist, a criminal outfit, conducted operations in the Outer Rim Territories, the Minos Cluster, and the Kathol sector. The gang was involved in a number of disreputable activities, including bounty-hunting, smuggling, slavery, and mercenary services. The group's roster included four individuals: Thanis Gul-Rah, a former Imperial Army soldier; Kolig, a skilled pilot; Padak, an armored bounty hunter; and Sufar, a known murderer. The modified YT-1300 light freighter Steel Fist, which was both owned and piloted by Kolig, served as the group's headquarters and transport. Their emblem was a spiked fist, adorned with the Aurebesh character for Qek.
Sufar joined Qulok's Fist while evading Imperial bounty hunters, who were pursuing him after his banishment from his homeworld. After rescuing him, the gang aided Sufar in locating his pursuers, whom he then tortured to death.
Around 7 ABY, Qulok's Fist was on a hunt on a remote planet. The hunt went awry and resulted in a massacre at one of the planet's settlements. Feeling responsible for his involvement in the slaughter, Thanis Gul-Rah departed from the group and retired to Kal'Shebbol, the capital of the Kathol sector. The remaining members of Qulok's Fist continued their operations, and in 8 ABY, they secured a new patron in Moff Kentor Sarne, the Imperial warlord who controlled the Kathol sector following the Empire's fragmentation. After New Republic forces liberated Kal'Shebbol in 8 ABY, Sarne was compelled to flee his capital. Upon learning that the New Republic had dispatched the CR90 corvette FarStar to pursue him, Sarne engaged Qulok's Fist to track the ship and gather information about its movements and objectives. Sarne also authorized them to disrupt the ship's operations should the opportunity arise.

Several weeks into the FarStar's assignment, Sarne reached out to Qulok's Fist, hiring them to launch an attack on the corvette while it was in orbit around the planet Shintel. Sarne had arranged for a clandestine operative on the planet, Colonel Olaver Lansel (alias Gandle Ott), to provide the FarStar's crew with misleading information suggesting that Sarne himself was on Shintel. The FarStar traveled to the Shintel system and discovered an outpost linked to the Moff, which he had abandoned after destroying all [hyperspace](/article/hyperspace-legends]-capable vessels and leaving the base personnel stranded. Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum, the commanding officer of the FarStar, formed an alliance with the base commander, Colonel Heget. In exchange for navigational data and information, Adrimetrum agreed to transport Heget to the Tanquilla Beach shadowport so he could contact Imperial authorities.
However, another member of the base's personnel, Lieutenant [Palme], was also a deep cover agent of Sarne's. Palme ensured that the navigational data contained a trapdoor program when it was uploaded into the FarStar's computer systems. As the corvette left orbit and activated its hyperdrive, the trapdoor program triggered an overload in the FarStar's engines. The resulting explosion destroyed the hyperdrive, leaving the corvette stranded. As planned, Qulok's Fist emerged from hyperspace in the Steel Fist and launched multiple attack runs on the ship. As the crew of the FarStar recovered from the initial sabotage and began to defend the ship, Qulok's Fist ceased their attack and jumped back into hyperspace.

Initially, Qulok's Fist consisted of Thanis Gul-Rah, Kolig, Padak, and Sufar. Following the massacre of a settlement on a remote planet in 7 ABY, this group was reduced to three members when Gul-Rah departed. Each member possessed a range of skills, including piloting, demolitions, computer slicing, poisoning, and unarmed combat techniques.
Before joining Qulok's Fist, Thanis Gul-Rah served as a soldier in the Imperial Army, participating in the occupation of Siluria III. After leaving Qulok's Fist, Gul-Rah joined the crew of the FarStar on Kal'Shebbol, responding to a public call for civilians with combat or technical skills to supplement the regular New Republic naval crew. During the engagement in the Shintel system, he found himself facing his former associates.
Kolig owned and operated the modified YT-1300 light freighter Steel Fist, which functioned as the group's headquarters, transport, and primary combat vessel. Known for his sophisticated and well-groomed appearance, Kolig was the de facto leader of Qulok's Fist and often planned the operations they were hired to execute. Padak, an armored bounty hunter, thrived on the thrill of combat and reveled in each kill. Destructive and violent, he felt no remorse for the deaths he caused. Sufar, a murderer, was exiled from his homeworld after committing multiple killings. He was pursued by Imperial bounty hunters before joining Qulok's Fist, using his membership to capture and torture his pursuers to death.
Qulok's Fist was featured in The DarkStryder Campaign, a roleplaying game sourcebook published by West End Games. They were described in the book's Rogues Gallery and played a role in the adventure Shintel Downtime. The organization and its members were given detailed backgrounds to allow Gamemasters to incorporate them into original adventures.
