A Jillsarian male physician only known as Doctor Quadpaw, a master of his craft, provided aid to those without alternatives and the credits to pay for his services, all on the moon of Frezno. In the year 5 BBY, a band of rebels, fresh from executing a daring heist on the planet Aldhani, sought Quadpaw's expertise for their critically wounded comrade, Karis Nemik, in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the surgeon's dedicated efforts to heal the rebel, he ultimately could not prevent his demise. Following the unsuccessful operation, Cassian Andor, another member of the rebel group, confronted Quadpaw and Vel Sartha, holding them at blasterpoint before making an offer of thirty thousand credits to the surgeon in exchange for a starship, after which they departed.

Operating from his dimly illuminated surgical suite within his residence on the moon of Frezno, the Jillsarian healer known solely as Doctor Quadpaw attended to patients with limited options and the necessary credits for his services. In 5 BBY, he became an element of the backup strategy for a heist orchestrated by a rebel infiltration team on the planet Aldhani. During this operation, where the team successfully pilfered a significant portion of an entire sector's payroll from an Imperial garrison, the rebel operative Karis Nemik suffered severe injuries when a stack of credits collapsed upon him, crushing his chest. The remaining three members of the team—Vel Sartha, Cassian Andor, and [Arvel Skeen](/article/arvel_skeen]—debated the risk of compromising the mission to seek Quadpaw's assistance for Nemik but ultimately decided to rendezvous with the doctor, transporting Nemik to him on Frezno.
Upon arriving on the moon, Quadpaw began working on the sedated Nemik in his operating room, administering an injection before commencing surgery. Sartha remained with the doctor, assisting throughout the procedure, while Andor and Skeen waited outside. Using forceps, Quadpaw probed within an incision made in the patient's lower back; however, despite his most dedicated efforts, the doctor was unable to save Nemik, who died during the operation. As Quadpaw concluded the procedure and wiped his forehead with a cloth, Sartha expressed her gratitude and then assisted the surgeon in covering Nemik with a sheet. Subsequently, Andor entered, blaster drawn. Upon noticing the weapon, Quadpaw raised all four of his hands and, presuming that Andor's reaction stemmed from Nemik's death, asserted that he had exhausted all possible measures to save the deceased.

Sartha then reassured the doctor that Andor's weapon was not directed at him, under the assumption that her mercenary colleague had betrayed them, but Andor surprised her as well by revealing that Skeen had been the one to propose taking the money and abandoning the others, a betrayal for which Andor had executed him. Andor offered the doctor thirty thousand credits from his share in exchange for a starship located in a nearby barn and informed them that he would take only the remainder of his share before departing. The doctor maintained his raised hands as Andor passed a Kuati Signet to Sartha, who in turn gave him a manifesto authored by Nemik, fulfilling the rebel's final wish. Andor advised them to leave the area and then departed, adhering to his word and taking only what he was owed.
Quadpaw was a male Jillsarian characterized by thinning white hair and a fair complexion. He was a highly skilled physician, utilizing his four dexterous arms and cybernetic augmentations to swiftly perform precise medical procedures on those in need, but only if they possessed the necessary credits. He exerted his utmost effort to save Nemik, but his extensive efforts ultimately fell short.
During his work on Nemik, Quadpaw employed a syringe, forceps, and a variety of other medical instruments. He wore a brown shirt and a brown apron and was equipped with cybernetic enhancements designed to improve his sight and hearing, including a headpiece and a lens positioned over each of his eyes. Andor offered Quadpaw thirty thousand credits for a ship that he assumed belonged to the doctor and that the mercenary believed to be worth only half that price.
