Plan 82, also called Shockwave, represented a strategic initiative conceived by Clone Force 99, the clone commando squad of the Galactic Republic, during the Clone Wars to combat the Separatist Alliance. The strategy was executed using improvised shields, coupled with the deployment of Electro Magnetic Pulse grenades, to effectively neutralize larger Separatist battle droids forces. In 19 BBY, Hunter, the Clone Sergeant commanding Clone Force 99, commanded his team to put Plan 82 into action against a contingent of battle droids after their Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunship crashed in a canyon on the planet Anaxes, a world that had experienced a series of engagements between the Republic and the Confederacy.
