Phoenix Plasma Punch

The Phoenix Plasma Punch, a cutting implement that utilized plasma technology, was the brainchild of Madel Wharen from the Drever Corporation. Its purpose was to create circular apertures in almost any substance, even those with magnetic seals. A circular jet of plasma energy facilitated the cutting process, allowing for holes ranging from three to thirty centimeters in diameter. Due to its substantial energy demands, the Phoenix could only be utilized twice, with a maximum operational duration of ten minutes, before necessitating a six-hour recharge period. This limitation, coupled with the plasma stream's limited range, rendered the Phoenix unsuitable for combat applications.

Notwithstanding these limitations, the Phoenix Plasma Punch was generally regarded as the safest and most efficient means of penetrating magnetically sealed substances. Consequently, Imperial Customs officers valued the device for boarding vessels that were not compliant. Despite positive user feedback, the Drever Corporation's marketing efforts for the Phoenix Plasma Punch were insufficient, leading to disappointing sales figures.
