Phasma's blaster rifle

Captain Phasma's personal F-11D blaster rifle, manufactured by Sonn-Blas, was her signature weapon. This particular blaster was distinguished by its buttstock, chromium plating, and a uniquely shaped trigger guard allowing for a two-handed grip.

Description

Phasma's personal F-11D blaster rifle was customized to her needs.

While serving the First Order, Captain Phasma wielded this customized blaster rifle as her primary weapon. The rifle was covered in recovered chromium, mirroring the distinctive shine of her armor. Notably, Phasma's blaster deviated from the standard F-11D blaster design by lacking a full trigger guard. Its barrel incorporated heat dispersal vents, and the extended stock housed a gas reservoir.

History

A year following her enlistment with the First Order, when she journeyed back to her homeworld of Parnassos to assemble her armor, Phasma had secretly commissioned the blaster and ensured it was calibrated for use with her gloves.

In 34 ABY, Phasma brought her blaster to Jakku, where, under the direction of Kylo Ren, she used it to execute surviving villagers after the stormtroopers attacked following the death of Lor San Tekka. She also had the weapon with her when she was thrown into the trash compactor on Starkiller Base. After escaping the compactor, Phasma tried to eliminate Lieutenant Sol Rivas with the rifle, but the ongoing destruction of the base prevented her success.

Later in the same time frame, Phasma carried her blaster onto the Supremacy, the flagship of Supreme Leader Snoke. She was preparing to supervise Finn's execution for treason against the First Order when the Raddus, General Leia Organa's flagship led by Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, collided with the Supremacy, causing it to break apart. Finn subsequently used an executioner trooper's BL-155 Laser ax to destroy Phasma's blaster, which forced her to engage him in combat using her baton.

Behind the scenes

The original design for Phasma's blaster rifle was intended for a heavy stormtrooper weapon in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. It was redesigned for Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, with a minor color adjustment to better match the chrome of Phasma's armor. Matthew Savage noted that the blaster in The Force Awakens appeared more gold-toned than the one in The Last Jedi, but he was uncertain if Rian Johnson, the director, had specifically requested a more chrome-like appearance for the blaster.
