Pantolomin was a celestial body that resided within both the Core Worlds and [the Interior](/article/the_interior] regions of space. This astronomical object was located at grid coordinates K-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Hyperspace routes connected it to both the nearby astronomical object Borleias and the planet of Coruscant. The name "Pantolomin" was also used for the Pantolomin cruiser, a type of luxurious cruiser favored by the criminal organization Black Sun.
The first mention of Pantolomin in current Star Wars canon occurred on a galactic map featured in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game. This boxed set, part of Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying product line, was released in 2016. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet named Pantolomin initially appeared in Dark Force Rising, a novel from 1992 and the second book in Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Later, an illustration by Mike Nielsen and Dana Knutson appeared in the Dark Force Rising Sourcebook. This sourcebook, written by Bill Slavicsek for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, was also published in 1992.
