Palace of Lite
On the planet Aquilae, the Palace of Lite functioned as the royal palace. Found within the planet's desert landscape, it was characterized by features such as rooftop gardens, fountains, and turrets.
Inside, one could find a control center, courtyard, dining chamber, and library. During the invasion of the Aquilaean system by the New Galactic Empire, the royal family sought refuge in their Underground Fortress, resulting in the palace's occupation by the Imperial military and Valorum.
Following the battles that took place over Aquilae, the palace remained standing and became the location for the investiture of Queen Leia, as well as the ceremony that honored the valiant Annikin Starkiller, Artwo, Threepio, and Chewbacca.
In the end, the Palace of Lite served as inspiration for the Grand Audience Chamber within the Massassi Temple in the final cut of A New Hope.
Eventually, the Palace of Lite made a cameo of sorts in the 2013 Dark Horse Comics adaptation of the original draft, called The Star Wars. Jonathan W. Rinzler, the writer, mentioned in a PDF containing a brief transcript from pages 14 and 15 of the nearly finished first issue, that he had considered modeling the Palace of Lite's design after Agrabah from the 1992 Disney film Aladdin to give it a more Arabic feel. However, he also noted that George Lucas would ultimately decide whether to keep that design choice.
