The Ho'Din individual named Oo Wen, who was male, was the property of Gardulla Besadii. Gardulla was a crime lord from the Hutt species, and Wen was her slave. Functioning as a gardener, Wen, along with other Ho'Din foresters, cultivated Besadii's elaborate indoor pleasure garden, stocking it with peculiar and hazardous plants. During the garden's construction in 32 BBY, Wen went against his owner by concealing the location of Ghostling children who had broken free from the Hutt's cells. The Ho'Din gardener aided in their hiding within the garden.

Oo Wen was a tall male of the Ho'Din species. His skin was a vibrant green, and his fleshy tendrils, which served as 'hair,' were violet. Although he worked as a gardener, by 32 BBY, Gardulla Besadii had acquired him as a slave. Gardulla, a Hutt crime lord, ordered the creation of an underground pleasure garden within her fortress on the desert planet of Tatooine. Wen was among the Ho'Din responsible for the garden's cultivation and upkeep. It featured diverse terrains, including swampland, forest, waterfalls, and a lake, and housed numerous dangerous semi-sentient plants and animals. The Ho'Din foresters dedicated an entire season to preparing the garden with flowers and trees.
The garden was also intended to house sentient beings as decorations. To this end, the Besadii Hutt released several Wisties into the garden to provide illumination. Similarly, in 32 BBY, Gardulla's enforcers captured a group of small Ghostling children, including their Princess, Arawynne, to be used as garden ornaments. Arawynne and the Ghostlings were freed from their cells by some Tatooine children, also slaves—Kitster Banai, Anakin Skywalker, and Pala Kwi'teksa—but they returned to hide in the partially finished pleasure garden until the local children could organize an escape from Besadii's compound. Banai, who was also enslaved by Gardulla, knew Wen and his fellow Ho'Din and believed they would protect the Ghostling children.
Wen lived up to Banai's expectations. As a nature enthusiast—scornfully called a "flower lover" by Sebulba the Dug, who had initially enslaved the Ghostlings for Gardulla—he was willing to shield the Princess and her companions from the Hutt and her minions. On one occasion, while Wen was tending to a small sapling, he spotted Arawynne and two companions, Kwi'teksa and a Wistie, across an open area. Wen signaled the children to come forward, indicating it was safe to cross. The Ghostling children, along with Kwi'teksa and several Wisties, sought refuge in a cave within the garden. Wen knew of their location, and the Wistie lookouts were prepared to allow the Ho'Din to visit the children. Eventually, Arawynne and her companions successfully escaped the compound.
Oo Wen was a creation of Dave Wolverton for Episode I Adventures 7: Capture Arawynne, which was released by Scholastic in 2000. Every installment of the young adult Episode I Adventures series included two books: a standard story book and a game book that allowed readers to make interactive choices that determined the story's outcome. Oo Wen is only mentioned in the story book. Both the story book and the accompanying game book make reference to another, unidentified Ho'Din. These sections are narrated from the point of view of Sebulba the Dug, who is unaware of the Ho'Din's name. Therefore, it is possible that this unnamed Ho'Din and Wen are the same individual. However, given that multiple Ho'Din gardeners were employed by Besadii, this article treats them as separate characters.
