Omel Sampak, a gangster from the Pyke species, was a prominent figure in the Pyke Syndicate during the era of the Galactic Civil War. In the period spanning from 3 ABY to 4 ABY, Sampak orchestrated the bombing of a Nar Kanji fight school, resulting in the death of numerous sleeping students. Following this event, Sampak rented out the space station known as Accretion Disco to celebrate his triumph. To ensure the safety of Sampak and his associates during the festivities, one of his subordinates enlisted the services of T'onga's crew, a group led by the bounty hunter T'onga. During their initial meeting, Sampak voiced his suspicion that Tasu Leech, a member of T'onga's crew, might be a Nar Kanji assassin, noting that his speech was indicative of such. T'onga defended Leech, asserting that he was not an assassin, but acknowledged the presence of several uninvited assassins at the party.
As T'onga's crew fought against the assassins, T'onga instructed Leech to escort Sampak to a secure location. Upon their arrival, they encountered a group of assassins, one of whom recognized Leech as a native of Nar Kanji due to his combat techniques. The assassin attempted to sway Leech, urging him to align himself with their cause instead of working for the Pykes or T'onga's crew. He then revealed that their motive for targeting Sampak was to avenge the students who perished in the bombing. After the assassin's departure, Sampak commended Leech for his actions, admitting that he had underestimated him. However, Leech then fatally stabbed Sampak with a knife. As the conflict subsided, T'onga and the remaining crew members proceeded to the safe room to collect their payment for protecting Sampak, only to discover Leech's betrayal upon their arrival.
