In a move intended to hinder the occupying Galactic Empire, the inhabitants of the Fekunda Outpost devoted additional resources to meticulously netting the phareen against nogull predation, an action that occurred somewhere in the period spanning 5 BBY to 0 BBY.
The initial reference to nogulls occurred within the third publication of the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny comic book series, authored by Devin Grayson and visually rendered by Eva Widermann. The comic's narrative included dialogue where characters identified these birds as a possible threat to the phareen harvest, despite the birds themselves not being depicted visually.
