Nakaron, a Trandoshan criminal, was a wanted man by the New Republic. His crimes included the assassination and murder of New Republic personnel, as well as assault, theft of New Republic property, reckless endangerment, and manslaughter. A bounty of 60,000 credits was offered for his capture.
Like many of his kind, Nakaron worked as a mercenary and assassin. His success, however, led to an overinflated ego, causing him to disregard the established class system that had been a fundamental part of Trandoshan society for millennia, spanning thousands of years. Consequently, he was banished from his home city, Forak, and subsequently barred from numerous other cities on Dosha, effectively exiling him from the entire planet.
Ultimately, Nakaron was employed by Glorga the Hutt. He discovered that Lanish Ran, one of Glorga's lieutenants, was secretly a Rebel operative, and he decided to bide his time, waiting for the opportune moment to expose him. Ran, however, was aware that Nakaron had uncovered his secret. Nakaron was under the mistaken impression that Ran was an Imperial agent, having previously observed Ran posing as an Imperial officer in Forak. He went to great lengths to demonstrate his unwavering loyalty to the Hutt. This charade continued for a significant time, persisting even after the formation of the New Republic.
During the Second Hollastin Insurrection, Nakaron's suspicions that Ran was an Imperial agent were seemingly confirmed when a group of smugglers launched an assault on Glorga's court. As the smugglers attacked, Nakaron eliminated two of them, while Ran single-handedly defeated the remaining eight. Nakaron became even more convinced that Ran was an Imperial, attributing his impressive combat skills to Imperial military training. Weeks later, when Nakaron presented his theory to the Hutt, he was immediately dismissed and threatened with death if he ever returned. In response, Nakaron drew his blaster and fatally shot the Hutt.
Following this, he engaged in a 45-minute blaster duel with Ran, resulting in the deaths of two dozen innocent bystanders. Within five minutes, he was apprehended by another New Republic agent working for Glorga, Thom Clessigan, who transported him aboard the Protector en route to a detention facility on Dles IV. Nakaron successfully hijacked the Protector, taking agent Clessigan and the ship's crew hostage.
Even among Trandoshans, Nakaron was considered unattractive. His complexion was a sickly greenish hue, a result of exposure to the sandstorms of Varic. His skin appeared damaged and unhealthy due to prolonged exposure to the arid desert heat of Lorpfan. Despite this, he was in excellent physical condition, possessing remarkable strength and agility. Unlike many members of his species, he had few scars, with the exception of some disfigured tissue from a landspeeder accident.
