Myder's Mynocks constituted a specialized section within Transcept Media Solutions, a surveillance firm headquartered on Gorse. This unit, known as Myder's Mynocks, was assigned a dedicated floor inside the World Window Plaza, the company's main office building. Their primary responsibility involved monitoring potential security risks to the Galactic Empire originating from Cynda, Gorse's mining satellite. Noteworthy members of Myder's Mynocks included Zaluna Myder and Hetto.
Myder's Mynocks functioned as a specific branch of Transcept Media Solutions. The organizational unit derived its name from its commanding officer, Zaluna Myder, a Transcept employee with three decades of experience. The operatives within this division interacted with advanced surveillance supercomputers. These computers were linked to a network of surveillance cameras installed in public areas and facilities throughout the planet Gorse and its moon Cynda. The operational floor for the Mynocks was equipped with full-spectrum lighting systems. This was to compensate for the reduced sunlight exposure on the nightward side of Gorse. The Mynocks were based out of the World Window Plaza, a unique building on Gorse shaped like an inverted truncated cone that was considered the newest architectural structure.
Myder's Mynocks was established in the waning years of the Galactic Republic. Its initial purpose was to monitor electronic communications and specific public locations for "conversations suspected of endangering Republic citizens." During the period of the Clone Wars, the Mynocks' mission shifted to identifying threats to "Republic security." By the time the Galactic Empire rose to power, the group's objective was to monitor all threats to "public order." Their activities encompassed tracking down fugitive Jedi survivors of Order 66 and reporting citizens who made verbal threats against the Empire. The Mynocks' area of responsibility covered Gorse and its moon, Cynda.
In the time leading up to the Gorse Conflict, Hetto, an operative of the Mynocks, along with his supervisor Zaluna Myder, identified and reported Skelly, a miner and veteran of the Clone Wars, for making a verbal threat against the Empire on Cynda. Consequently, Imperial forces were sent to apprehend Skelly. Later, Hetto was arrested for gaining access to sensitive information about the Empire and contacting the rebel operative Hera Syndulla. This information pertained to the Imperial industrialist Count Denetrius Vidian and was of interest to Hera, who was part of a growing rebel movement dedicated to opposing the Empire.
The following day, the entire division faced suspension. Zaluna, the Mynocks' supervisor, was also suspended due to her absence from work. Because of her suspension and involvement with the rebels Hera Syndulla, Skelly, and Kanan Jarrus, Zaluna chose not to return to Transcept. Instead, she played a role in thwarting Vidian's plan to destroy Cynda during the Gorse Conflict. Subsequently, Zaluna relocated to a remote agricultural world.
