The Multopos represented a sentient species that originated on the planet known as Baralou.
Their sustenance was derived from smaller herbivorous creatures and plants. Multopos were characterized by their considerable height and muscular build, complemented by thick, damp skin displaying a mottled pattern of grey to light blue. They possessed strong legs and slender, elongated arms. Extending from their forearms and legs were substantial membranes that facilitated swimming. Each limb terminated in three digits, and their hands featured webbing. Their heads were distinguished by extended snouts, with three gill sets positioned directly beneath the lower jaw. Multopos exhibited the capability to respire in both aquatic and aerial environments, and they demonstrated resilience to the immense pressures present in the depths of the ocean. Their large, prominent eyes were deeply recessed within their skulls. A Multopo would rapidly experience dehydration if it remained out of water for longer than a single day.
Due to their amphibious nature, reproduction for Multopos could only occur within an aquatic setting, and their eggs necessitated continuous submersion in water throughout their developmental phase. The offspring were unable to emerge from the water until reaching approximately six local years of age.

Multopos organized themselves into tribal communities, generally situated in the central, and therefore safest, regions of an island. Multopos tribes adhered to traditional customs. Individuals maintained lifelong affiliation with their birth tribe. Individuality was minimal within their society, with each Multopo exhibiting complete dedication to the tribe. They devoted substantial time to nurturing the young, as well as engaging in hunting and plant gathering. The tribes operated under a loosely defined structure; the Multopos typically deferred to the tribe member who displayed the greatest initiative. Multopos tribes existed in isolation from one another, although the species as a whole possessed a curious and peaceful disposition. The primary function of the tribe was the propagation of the Multopos species. Each Multopos tribe maintained several canals to ensure the survival of their eggs during storms. These canals served as nurseries for Multopos eggs and infants, constantly monitored by several adults.
The Multopos were perpetually engaged in a brutal conflict with the Krikthasi, another sentient species native to Baralou. The Multopos had developed rudimentary stone-based technology and engaged in trade with the Krikthasi through bartering. They also permitted free traders to extract gems from their islands in exchange for various commodities. However, lacking awareness of the true market value of the gemstones, the Multopos would exchange a one-kilogram Sasho gem, valued at five thousand credits, for items such as a blaster pistol and associated power packs. Multopos would approach unfamiliar visitors and attempt communication using a simplified version of Basic. They constructed basic structures using a combination of soil and sand, bound together with adhesive extracted from specific tree trunks. The resulting buildings were robust yet lightweight, enabling them to float on water.
