Moog Mot VI, a banking planet situated in the Tharin sector of the Outer Rim Territories, was home to a Galactic Empire garrison. At one point, Imperial technicians there extracted the data core from the chief accounting droid belonging to Sollima, a crime lord from whom the Empire sought to seize control of the gambling space station known as the Hollow Moon.
Sollima, around 1 BBY, compelled the smuggler Han Solo to collaborate with his former thieving associate, Billal Batross, on a mission to retrieve the accounting droid from Imperial hands. The pair journeyed to Moog Mot IV, where they infiltrated the garrison disguised as Imperial officers and successfully located the droid. However, Batross, fearing the incriminating information the droid possessed about him, destroyed it, leading to his and Solo's capture and interrogation by the Empire. Subsequently, the garrison's Captain Taavin coerced them into betraying Sollima and assisting the Empire in taking over the Hollow Moon, after which Solo and Batross departed Moog Mot VI to carry out their new assignment at the space station.
Moog Mot VI was a planet that held the sixth orbital position within the Moog Mot system, which itself was a part of the Tharin sector in the Outer Rim Territories' Slice region. Its location on the Triellus Trade Route hyperlane connected it to the Dennogra and Taskeed systems. The skies of Moog Mot VI were reddish, and its rocky surface was also red in color.

Years prior to 1 BBY, the Galactic Empire began their scheme to seize control of the Hollow Moon, a Hutt Space gambling space station operated by the crime lord Sollima. As part of this plan, the Empire acquired Sollima's principal accounting droid from Billal Batross, a thief indebted to the gangster who sought to eliminate the droid due to its knowledge of his embezzlement of money from Sollima. The Empire housed the partially disassembled accounting droid—which Sollima believed had been stolen by the Empire—at the Imperial garrison on Moog Mot VI, where technicians extracted its data core to gather intelligence against Sollima.
Around 1 BBY, Sollima apprehended Han Solo and Chewbacca, a pair of smugglers also in debt to the crime lord, on the Cadma sector planet Simbarc. At Batross's suggestion, a former partner in crime with Solo, Sollima tasked Solo with traveling to Moog Mot VI to retrieve his droid from the Empire. Because Sollima held Chewbacca hostage to prevent Solo and his partner from fleeing, and because Solo still required a copilot for the mission, he was paired with Batross. Solo and Batross then left Simbarc aboard Solo's light freighter, the Millennium Falcon, bound for Moog Mot VI.

Upon the freighter's arrival in realspace near the Imperial banking world, it transmitted a falsified landing code provided by Sollima to the Imperial forces. Disguised in fake Imperial uniforms, Solo and Batross then entered the garrison. Inside, Solo used holographic schematics of the facility to locate the room where Sollima's droid was held, while Batross contemplated robbing the Empire's acquisitions and processing center and absconding with a large sum of credits. After entering the room without the proper clearance code, Solo incapacitated the technician working on the droid and instructed Batross to disconnect the automaton from the wiring, while he moved the unconscious technician.

However, Batross, intending to conceal his theft from Sollima, shot the droid's head, enraging Solo because Sollima wanted the droid intact, and Batross's actions endangered Chewbacca's life. When Batross disconnected the wires, an alarm sounded, forcing the pair to grab the droid's disassembled parts and flee. The would-be thieves encountered a stormtrooper patrol, to whom Batross immediately surrendered. They were arrested and taken for interrogation involving torture.
After Batross revealed the details of their mission to Imperial Captain Taavin, the captain freed them and offered a choice: stand trial for sabotage and treason, or return the droid's remains to Sollima at the Hollow Moon and override the station's security codes, enabling the Empire to take over the gambling establishment. Solo and Batross accepted Taavin's latter offer, boarded the Millennium Falcon, and departed Moog Mot VI for the Hollow Moon.
Moog Mot VI, a banking world under Galactic Empire control, had three Imperial Star Destroyers patrolling its orbit. The Imperial garrison on Moog Mot VI was staffed by numerous Galactic Basic Standard–speaking Human officers and technicians, as well as stormtroopers. The facility's personnel also included a protocol droid and several mouse droids.
Moog Mot VI made its debut in Han Solo and the Hollow Moon of Khorya, the inaugural entry in Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars Adventures series of graphic novellas. Han Solo and the Hollow Moon of Khorya was penned by Jeremy Barlow, illustrated by Rick Lacy, and released on April 29, 2009. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published on August 18, 2009, situated the Moog Mot system, and consequently Moog Mot VI, in grid square S-8.
