The Model MSD-32 Disruptor Pistol from Merr-Sonn was potentially the most sophisticated disruptor weapon ever engineered, despite its tragically brief production run.
Thanks to the inclusion of superior technology, the MSD-32 represented a significant upgrade compared to less effective disruptor weapons such as the DX-2 disruptor pistol. A rapid-pulse energy module amplified the weapon's destructive capability, shortened the recharge time between shots from five seconds to three, and expanded its ammo capacity to ten shots.
This weapon discharged incredibly potent disruptor blasts. Upon impact, these blasts initiated the dissolution of molecular bonds at the subatomic level, with the disintegration process continuing relentlessly. To illustrate, a person shot in the arm would ultimately die within a matter of minutes as their body underwent demolecularization. Even more unsettling was the weapon's capacity for modification to include a charged shot mode, which expended half of the weapon's total ammunition in a single discharge. This charged bolt, even in the case of a glancing hit, would instantaneously obliterate its target, leaving behind only a heap of ash.
The sheer lethality and the widespread fear it inspired, coupled with the company's profound dismay at their creation, prompted Merr-Sonn to undertake drastic measures to erase all evidence of the weapon's existence. The design schematics were wiped from all company computers, the designers were exiled to the spice mines, the managers were executed, and every available weapon was destroyed.
However, a limited number of these weapons were sold prior to the commencement of this purge. Allegedly, these weapons were intended for use by Imperial operatives; nevertheless, a considerable number of them fell into unauthorized hands.
