The Poderis Mission occurred amidst the backdrop of the Thrawn campaign. Luke Skywalker was on a quest to ascertain if Poderis served as a transit hub for the Empire's clone operations.
Grand Admiral Thrawn strategically employed Poderis as a deceptive tactic, aiming to mislead Luke Skywalker in his pursuit of the Empire's clone movement. This ploy proved successful, leading to Luke's clandestine entry onto the Imperial world.
Upon arriving on Poderis, Skywalker found himself in a precarious situation atop a roof connected to the shield-barrier, attempting to evade capture. Utilizing his enhanced sensory perception, Luke scanned for nearby Imperial forces, discovering not only an Imperial Intelligence agent tailing him, but also areas where his powers were ineffective, indicating the presence of ysalamiri. Realizing he was ensnared in a trap, he ascended to the roof, only to find his escape routes blocked.
The Jedi improvised a protective covering for his hand using a fragment torn from the left sleeve of his tunic. Subsequently, he carved a groove into the wall's exterior, inserted his hand, and initiated his descent, employing his lightsaber to create a slanting pathway for his hand to follow. After traversing approximately 100 meters along the wall's surface, he breached the shield-barrier and re-entered the city.

Recognizing that the stormtroopers were unlikely to apprehend Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn permitted the Jedi to depart the planet, intending to capture him in space. The Chimaera attempted to intercept Skywalker's Class 720 freighter within the Poderis system, but the Jedi successfully evaded capture by employing a Covert Shroud Maneuver.
Aboard the Chimaera, Ensign Mithel, the officer overseeing one of the Star Destroyer's tractor beams, exerted his utmost effort to counter Skywalker's ruse by altering tractor beam settings. As a reward for his resourcefulness, Rejlii was promoted to lieutenant by Grand Admiral Thrawn and tasked with devising an effective defense against the covert shroud technique.
