The Metellos mission involved Plo Koon, recently elevated to the rank of Jedi Master, being dispatched to apprehend Dreed Pommel at the request of the Jedi High Council. Despite the Council's reservations about sending Koon so soon after the loss of his Master, Tyvokka, during the Stark Hyperspace War, the Kel Dor insisted on his readiness for the task.
Koon tracked Pommel for five days, eventually locating him in an executive suite within the city of Ektra on Metellos. Unable to maintain his stealth, Koon was spotted by Pommel, which forced him to immediately confront him in the suite.
Upon entering, Koon discovered that Pommel was holding a young girl hostage, with her parents and two siblings already murdered. With a blaster pointed at the girl's head, Pommel attempted to retreat towards the suite's private landing pad. Believing that the murderer would kill the girl even if allowed to escape, Koon unleashed a blast of Electric Judgment from his fingertips. Pommel lost consciousness, and Koon arranged for local authorities to take him into custody. Koon ensured that Claria, the young girl, was placed in the care of a relative at Stratablock 7 on Metellos.
Upon Koon's return to Coruscant, the High Council requested a report of the mission to be submitted to the Great Holocron, specifically to document Koon's reflections on the controversial ability of Electrical Judgment. The Council determined that its use by trained Jedi was safe, without the influence of the dark side. Shortly after this mission, Koon was appointed to the Council, where he further developed the technique and taught it to select students at the Jedi Temple.
