Mission to Elom

The Sith Empire and the Jedi Order, along with Task Force Nova, both ventured on a mission to Elom. Their shared objective was to journey to the Temple of Nul and ascertain the motives of the renegade Sith Lord, Darth Malgus.

Prelude

After obtaining a relic from the Jedi Enclave ruins on the planet Dantooine, a relic that once belonged to Darth Nul (an ancient female Sith Lord whose existence had been deliberately erased from historical records), Darth Malgus made the decision to travel to her temple located on the planet Elom.

Simultaneously, the Jedi Order discovered information regarding Darth Nul and the orchestrated campaign designed to remove her from historical accounts. They also uncovered a connection between Elom and Darth Nul, leading them to believe that this planet was where the Sith Lord had spent time and where Malgus intended to find answers.

Jedi Master Denolm Orr put together an investigative team to journey to the planet, the team was comprised of Jedi Master Gan Enok, Material Analysis Dr. Mykon Ora, Chief engineer Rolan Aun, Specialist Tiriz Etto, and his Padawan Sa'har Kateen.

The Mission

By the time Denolm Orr's team arrived at the Temple of Nul, only he and his padawan Sa'har remained, having faced Imperial forces. Inside the temple, they discovered a peculiar device drawing power from a holocron. Soon, Orr and Kateen were confronted by another Sith at the temple. Denolm instructed Sa'har to destroy the machine while he dealt with the enemy, but Darth Malgus unexpectedly killed the Sith upon his arrival.

Denolm Orr faces Malgus.

While Malgus and Orr engaged in a duel, Sa'har entered the temple's machine and experienced a vision of her past, revealing how her Master had left her brother behind when he chose her as his Padawan. Orr used the Force to destroy the machine and free Sa'har from its influence. However, after retrieving the holocron from the machine, the young Padawan refused to return it to Orr, accusing him of failing to save her brother. A struggle for the holocron ensued between the Padawan and Master, allowing Malgus to recover and ensnare Orr with the Force before delivering a fatal blow.

This brought Kateen back to reality, and she engaged the rogue Sith Lord in a duel for the holocron. Unfortunately, she was Force-pushed and subsequently buried under the temple's collapsing rubble by Malgus, who seized the opportunity to snatch the holocron from her grasp. The Sith Lord abandoned Sa'har to her fate, telling her that she needed to break free of her cage if she was ready.

Malgus escapes the temple.

As Malgus fled the temple and prepared to depart Elom, he was confronted by The Commander, Tau Idair, and Lana Beniko, who sensed his presence through the Force. The renegade Sith Lord battled all three Force-users, but after a fierce fight, he was ultimately defeated. Despite Malgus's refusal to surrender, numerous Jedi arrived on Elom and aided The Commander in immobilizing the Sith Lord with the Force.

Aftermath

The renegade Sith Lord was imprisoned aboard Carrick Station in a specialized prison designed to contain someone of his power. While imprisoned and awaiting interrogation, Malgus pondered the Alliance Commander's belief that the ordeal was over, revealing that he had discovered a path to power concealed by thrones and hidden by councils. Malgus then proclaimed that he had foreseen a galaxy engulfed in flames and that his actions were merely the beginning.

Sa'har also survived the temple's destruction, emerging alive long after Malgus had departed. She discovered that Malgus had hidden the holocron amidst the temple's rubble. Using the Force, the padawan retrieved the holocron before leaving the site.

Behind the scenes

While the characters differ, the gameplay for Imperial players remains essentially unchanged. The player is initially accompanied by Lana Beniko and Darth Rivix, with Lana advising the player to closely monitor Rivix.

During the conclusion of Malgus's capture, Darth Krovos and Darth Xarion arrive with a contingent of Sith Warriors to restrain the renegade Sith, accompanied by Emperor Vowrawn or Empress Acina (depending on previous choices in the War for Iokath storyline) and two Imperial Guards. Malgus is subsequently imprisoned in the lower level of Vaiken Spacedock.
