An Elegance message drone Before the advent of the HoloNet, compact, self-operating droid vessels known as message drones served the purpose of transmitting sensitive communications across the vastness of space. Among the known varieties were the Cha'a message pod and the Elegance message drone; the latter saw deployment during the era of the Old Republic, and continued to be utilized, albeit to a lesser degree, by the Galactic Empire.
