Mellor Yago held a position as an officer within the Rendili Home Defense Fleet throughout the Clone Wars. He performed his duties on the flagship, specifically the Mersel Kebir.
Lieutenant Yago believed Rendili's situation would improve by seceding from the Galactic Republic and aligning its formidable fleet with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, naturally under his leadership. Yago spearheaded the mutiny that resulted in the capture of Captain Jace Dallin, who was the Rendili fleet commander, as well as Jedi Master Plo Koon, and Republic Captain Jan Dodonna. Subsequently, he assumed command of the fleet, leveraging it to assault Republic forces with the support of Confederate reinforcements.
Nevertheless, Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos successfully liberated the captured individuals. Dallin himself killed Yago and regained control of the fleet, thereby quashing the mutiny.
