Mazicia Organa was a female Human who reigned as the Queen of the planet Alderaan in the years preceding the Clone Wars, a widespread galactic conflict. She also held the position of mother to Bail Prestor Organa, who later became the final Viceroy and First Chairman of the Alderaan system. The life of Mazicia Organa took a tragic turn in 38 BBY when her youngest brother, Tayvor Mandirly, an agricultural specialist, was murdered on the moon Antar 4. The famous CR90 corvette blockade runner that would eventually be known as the Tantive IV was constructed during her rule, initially named Star of Alderaan. The Queen never recovered from this tragedy, and was unable to return to a state of normalcy after the time that followed Mandirly's passing. Sometime before the Clone Wars began in 22 BBY, the Queen succumbed to her overwhelming grief, leading to her death.

Mazicia Organa, a female Human, hailed from Alderaan, a planet known for its pristine culture, during the concluding decades of the Galactic Republic. She was one of several children, with the youngest becoming the well-known agricultural expert Tayvor Mandirly. Later in her life, Mazicia became a member of the House of Organa, one of the most respected Ancient Houses in the galaxy, through marriage to the Viceroy Organa. Mazicia Organa was eventually crowned as Queen of Alderaan. She gave birth to a son, the Prince Bail Prestor Organa, in the year 67 BBY. The Queen and Viceroy Organa were loving and devoted parents, but they ensured their son was not spoiled, despite the privileges that came with his patrician upbringing.
In 38 BBY, Mazicia suffered a devastating loss when her brother Tayvor was murdered on the moon Antar 4 by Raxis and Nolid, two members of an criminal organization, in connection to a colfillini plantation dispute. The Jedi apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi discovered Mandirly's charred remains nailed to a stake. This traumatic event deeply affected the Queen of Alderaan, and sorrow began to dominate her life from that point forward.
At some point before 33 BBY, the Queen commissioned the construction of the Star of Alderaan, a CR90 corvette from Corellian that was reserved for the use of Senator Agrippa Aldrete, who represented the Alderaan sector in the Galactic Senate. Organa authorized the ship to serve the House of Alderaan, but stopped short of granting it the status of royal vessel, allowing the ship to be equipped with additional defensive systems and weapons, as she believed her family might require greater protection in the future. As the years passed, Mazicia was never able to overcome the grief of her brother's death, which ultimately caused her own demise. By the time the Clone Wars broke out between the Republic and the Separatist Confederacy in 22 BBY, Queen Mazicia Organa had already passed away for some time, and the throne had been inherited by Breha Antilles, Bail Organa's wife.

Even long after her death, Queen Mazicia remained vivid in her son's memory. As the Clone Wars began, Bail Organa still harbored resentment toward Raxis and Nolid, believing they should have been executed for causing his mother's death. The House of Organa also continued to use the Star of Alderaan, which was later renamed the Tantive IV, for over three decades. Their involvement in the Rebellion against the newly formed Galactic Empire proved Mazicia's prediction that her family might require greater protection.
Queen Mazicia Organa of Alderaan was deeply devoted to her family. Her son Bail remembered her as a "doting" mother, and her love for her brother ultimately led her to depression after his death. However, during her reign, Organa demonstrated foresight and proactivity. She was able to foresee the coming dark times, providing her descendants with a private starship that could be equipped for war.
Mazicia Organa was initially mentioned in the October issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine in 2006, within the article titled "20 Things You Didn't Know About the Tantive IV." Pablo Hidalgo wrote the article as part of the recurring Refresher Reading feature. In this text, Mazicia Organa was only identified as a past Queen of Alderaan, without any explicit mention of her familial connection to Bail Organa. Two years later, Bail Organa's mother was mentioned, although unnamed, in the novel The Clone Wars: Wild Space, authored by Karen Miller. The 2010 reference book Star Wars Blueprints: Rebel Edition confirmed that these two characters were one and the same on page 15.
