Situated in the Mid Rim's Senex sector, Manforgon was a planet. For numerous centuries, the Senex-Juvex region utilized it as a penal colony. After it devolved into a lawless territory contested by various warlords, the noble houses of the Senex-Juvex relinquished Manforgon to the Galactic Empire. The Empire repurposed the world for military applications, and during the era of the Galactic Civil War, Imperial Customs Officer Tellix was stationed there.
A terrestrial planet, Manforgon was part of the Manforgon system, which itself was located within the Senex sector. The Senex sector was a district of the Senex-Juvex region, which was within the Western Reaches section of the Mid Rim. The Senex-Juvex Loop hyperlane provided a connection to both the Mussubir system and the Kassido system found in the adjacent Juvex sector. Manforgon presented as a world with a lackluster, brownish-gray color.
Manforgon functioned as a penal colony for the Senex-Juvex region for several centuries, housing prisoners from all over. As time went on, the planet descended into lawlessness, with warlords battling for dominance. In time, Manforgon frequently appeared in Senex-Juvex romances, often involving an illegitimate child or a falsely accused noble exiled to the planet, who would eventually return in triumph.
After the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, the galactic government demanded that the aristocratic lords of the Ancient Houses in Senex-Juvex cede control of a planet within the region for use by the Imperial Military. The nobles complied, carelessly handing over Manforgon. Soon after, the planet gained notoriety as one of the least desirable assignments within the Empire.
During the Galactic Civil War, Tellix served as an Imperial Customs Officer stationed on Manforgon. On one occasion, he approached a starship that had landed, questioning the vessel's origins and the purpose of the crew's presence on Manforgon. A crewmember stated that the starship had come from Tatooine, a planet in the Outer Rim Territories, transporting a beverage called sand wine.
Among those imprisoned on Manforgon were individuals of the Hutlarian species and Humans, including those originating from Aquella. Senex-Juvex men seeking to enhance their reputations sometimes secretly traveled to Manforgon.
The 2000 Star Wars Roleplaying Game core rulebook by Wizards of the Coast was the first to mention Manforgon. The book describes the planet as a possible location for a roleplaying game adventure. This article assumes the scenario unfolds as described. The reference book The Essential Atlas (2009) placed it in grid square L-17.
