Malory Lands, related to Roan Lands through kinship, was his cousin; Roan Lands was a key figure as a founding member of The Eleven, the resistance movement situated on Bellassa. Lilia, Roan's aunt, was Malory's mother. Before the Empire seized control of ChanPal on Coruscant, renaming it the Emperor's Reconstructive Surgical Center, Malory studied medicine there; subsequently, she went back to her native Bellassa. At the Nine Days of Mourning memorial for Roan, she encountered Ferus Olin, her cousin's closest friend. During this encounter, Ferus Olin requested that she re-enroll at her previous educational institution to attempt to discover the real identity of his adversary, Darth Vader, thereby including her in the membership of The Eleven.
