Malcolm Tween

Malcolm Tween, a partner at the UK-based Illustration studio Digital Progression, has been an officially recognized Star Wars artist since 2004. During this time, he has produced artwork for numerous Lucasfilm projects, notably the original Star Wars trilogy, Revenge of the Sith, and Indiana Jones. Furthermore, he has developed a series of limited-edition Star Wars prints for events like Celebration IV, Celebration V, Celebration Japan, Celebration Europe II, Celebration Anaheim, Celebration Orlando, and Celebration Chicago.

In 2015, he provided the illustrations for an award-winning series consisting of twelve official UK Royal Mail Star Wars postage stamps, released to coincide with the premiere of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. These highly sought-after special edition sets showcased characters spanning the entire film saga, including iconic figures like Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Boba Fett. The stamps also included Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens.

During the stamp development phase, two additional concepts featuring Darth Maul and Luke's X-wing were created. These were later made available as limited-edition prints for Star Wars Celebration London and Celebration Orlando.

Following the initial set's success, a subsequent collection of eight stamps was launched in 2017, highlighting the creatures and droids of the Star Wars universe. This set featured R2-D2, C-3PO, and Chewbacca from the original trilogy, alongside BB-8, Maz Kanata, and K-2SO from Rogue One, as well as Supreme Leader Snoke and a Porg from The Last Jedi.

A final set, comprising ten stamps, was issued in 2019. This set presented more classic characters, such as Lando Calrissian, Grand Moff Tarkin, Count Dooku, and Wicket the Ewok, along with newer characters from the sequel trilogy.
