Mak Sezala, a senator of Both, served as the representative for the Bothan sector within the New Republic Senate. This occurred after Borsk Fey'lya was chosen as Chief of State. At first, he was against Fey'lya's strategy to attract the Yuuzhan Vong to deserted planets by suggesting Jedi were concealed there. However, he later gave his support and even 'donated' a number of planets from Bothan Space to aid the scheme.
