The M8 Combat Knife, a straightforward melee weapon, was manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. and distributed to each clone trooper in the Galactic Republic's clone army. The knife became well-known for its dual functionality as both a tool and a weapon. Constructed from textured, flat, black polycarbonate to enhance grip and comfort, its handle took inspiration from another Merr-Sonn product, the Treppus-2 vibroknife. The M8 Combat Knife had a price of 150 credits.
In 2019, Fantasy Flight Games released Rise of the Separatists, a supplementary roleplaying sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series, which included a mention of the M8 Combat Knife.
