During the Stark Hyperspace War, Republic troops touched down on the Lycinder Plain. Situated on Troiken's equator, the Lycinder Plain was a level expanse that lay before Mount Avos. Ranulph Tarkin's paramilitary disembarked there following the First Battle of Qotile in 44 BBY, with the intention of retreating into the mountain.
