Lusaanda, a celestial object, resided within the bounds of the Lusaanda system. This system was itself situated within the Meram sector, a subsection of the New Territories region, which in turn was located within the Outer Rim Territories.
The first appearance of Lusaanda occurred in the 1993 publication Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas. This book brought together creature designs and images from various projects by George Lucas, the mind behind the Star Wars saga, accompanied by text written by Bob Carrau. In this book, Lusaanda was presented as a planet which served as the homeworld of Skreen, an alien who worked as a technical director for the Manifold Mollusk Matrix and Matrimony Association. Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas states that Skreen at one point authored a work titled "Destiny Days," a fictionalized retelling of actual events that transpired on Lusaanda following Skreen's death.
Leland Chee, an employee of Lucasfilm and the keeper of the Holocron continuity database, has clarified that the information presented in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas is considered non-canonical within the context of Star Wars Legends continuity. However, Jason Fry, who co-authored the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, has indicated that the names of the star systems listed in the book's Appendix are derived from the most significant planets or celestial bodies found within those systems. Consequently, this article treats the existence of Lusaanda as canonical within the Legends continuity. The Essential Atlas pinpointed the Lusaanda system, and therefore Lusaanda itself, to grid square O-4.
