Lerek Serrus, a Human male, served as a Sith apprentice under Darth Lachris. He also held the position of vice president on Balmorra amidst the Cold War that raged between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire.
As a Force-sensitive individual, Lerek Serrus was a resident of Balmorra when the revitalized Sith Empire launched its invasion. He came to the conclusion that the Galactic Republic was a hindrance to his world's progress, prompting him to cooperate with the occupying Imperial forces. He believed that aligning with the Empire would ultimately benefit his loved ones, his people, and bring honor to Balmorra. He ascended through the Empire's hierarchy and succumbed to the allure of the dark side, eventually becoming the apprentice of Darth Lachris, the Sith Governor of Balmorra. As her apprentice, he was appointed to the role of Balmorra's vice president.
During the period of the Cold War, Lerek found himself on Balmorra, tasked by his master with safeguarding Chief Trabier, the figure responsible for the enslavement of Balmorra's populace. When the Barsen'thor made their appearance, Lerek positioned himself as a shield for Trabier, cautioning the approaching Jedi to maintain their distance. He conveyed to the Consular his motivations: the protection of his family and community, driven by the promise of hope and triumph that his master pledged to deliver. The Barsen'thor attempted to redeem him, urging him to reject the dark side and instead safeguard his family and the people he cherished. Ultimately, Lerek turned against his master and Trabier, defecting from the ranks of the Sith.
The player determines Lerek's destiny through one of three dialogue options. Selecting the first option prompts Lerek to share his concerns about his family, allowing the player to convince him to return to them and abandon the dark side. Choosing the second option involves an attempt to redeem him, but Lerek engages the Jedi regardless, resulting in his death during the ensuing conflict. Finally, the third option, which grants Dark Side points upon selection, involves the player directly engaging and killing Lerek. Despite sharing a surname, his connection to House Serrus of Alderaan remains uncertain.
