The governing body of Bimmisaari, the leading planet within the Halla sector, was known as the Law Elders. This council, which convened in the Tower of Law, consisted of representatives from both the Near-Human and furred races inhabiting Bimm. Even though they sided with the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War, the Elders began talks to become part of the New Republic in the initial period of the Thrawn campaign. Following discussions with Leia Organa Solo, Bimmisaari eventually decided to align with the New Republic, prompting other planets in the Halla sector, including Danuta, to do the same.
