Kullbee Sperado

A male Meftian gunslinger known as Kullbee Sperado was convinced by the insurgent leader Saw Gerrera to enlist in his Partisans. This recruitment happened while Sperado was located on Serralonis.

Biography

Sperado piloting an X-wing fighter for the Partisans.

On Serralonis, Saw Gerrera, the rebel leader, successfully recruited Kullbee Sperado to become a member of his Partisans. Haunted by a history he kept secret, Sperado was extremely private and would vanish for weeks at a time.

Later, specifically in 5 BBY, Tenza and the Partisans had established a presence at a base located on the planet named Segra Milo. On two separate instances, Tenza remained at his post on the base while the rebel Luthen Rael engaged in conversation with Gerrera inside.

In 1 BBY, he, along with the other Partisans, were operating from the Catacombs of Cadera situated on the moon of Jedha. It was there that Sperado was occasionally seen offering prayers at the Temple of the Kyber within Jedha City.

Not long after the Partisans took into custody a group that included Jyn Erso, Gerrera's adopted daughter, within the city, they were compelled to evacuate the catacombs. This was due to the Galactic Empire's Death Star superweapon destroying Jedha City, which generated a destructive wave that also obliterated the catacombs. Sometime after enduring these events, Sperado and Cycyed Ock made their way to the opposite side of the moon. After they came across a guide for smugglers that Shesslaria had abandoned, the two departed Jedha with the intention of discovering Maz Kanata's treasure on Iskalon. Although they initially managed to obtain the treasure, they were soon apprehended and incarcerated in Megalox Beta Penitentiary.

Behind the scenes

Kullbee Sperado made his debut appearance in the motion picture Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which premiered in North America on December 16 of 2016. Although he was not identified by name in the film itself, the reference book titled Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide provided his name. This book was authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on the very same day. Robert Nairne played the character, and he also portrayed Cycyed Ock in the same film.

The moniker Sperado originated from a fusion of the production nickname "Skullbeard" and the term "desperado," a reference to his resemblance to a Old West gunslinger.
