Krayt Cult Cave

Near Mos Eisley on Tatooine, a desert held a specific cavern: the Krayt Cult Cave. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, this cave served as the base of operations for the Krayt Cult, who were devoted to the worship of krayt dragons.

History

Following the Battle of Yavin which occurred in 0 BBY, the Krayt cultists took up residence within the cave. Deep within the cave's interior, they performed rituals of worship before a large krayt dragon skull.

In 1 ABY, Tori Radeen commissioned a spacer employed by Jabba the Hutt to venture into the cave and retrieve the poison glands from the bone gnashers inhabiting it. These glands were then utilized by her to formulate a novel poison intended for Jabba's use. Roughly around this time, the Rodian named Oldksam sought refuge inside the cave, fearing assassination at the behest of the crime lord Faeto. Subsequently, a bounty hunter tracked Oldksam to his hiding place in the cave, however, he only questioned him regarding a man called Untas, who was Faeto's true objective. Simultaneously, Officer Ellis Arrison instructed a young cadet to engage the Krayt Cultists in their cave, as a component of the cadet's officer combat training.

Behind the scenes

The Krayt Cult Cave made an appearance in Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game from 2003. This game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before its servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. The Krayt Cult Cave was integrated into the game as part of the "Legacy Quest" with the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.

Within the unreleased quest "Cult of the Krayt," Brannix Tzg'ada would have charged a spacer with the task of eliminating members of the Krayt cult located within the Krayt Cult Cave.
