Kaneer's window

Kaneer's Window was not a real window; instead, it was a disguised entrance situated within the Jedi Temple found on the planet of Coruscant. This deceptive window functioned as a concealed doorway, providing access to the Archive of Forbidden Artifacts, a restricted repository. Numerous Jedi, among them Klias Teradine, Yula Braylon, Lene Kostana, Dooku, and Sifo-Dyas, secretly gained entry to the Bogan Collection by using Kaneer's Window.

Description

Kaneer's window was located in the Jedi Temple.

Inside the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, one could find Kaneer's window, a glass window that acted like a secret door within an interior wall. The window was artificially lit to create a moonlight-like effect. Behind it was a hidden passageway that led to the Archive of Forbidden Artifacts, also known as the Bogan Collection; a clandestine vault full of artifacts linked to the dark side of the Force. A magnetic lock secured this doorway.

History

Klias Teradine, a Jedi Padawan, noted in his holojournal around 241 BBY during the High Republic Era, that Kaneer's window provided a secure route into the Bogan Collection. Later on, Jedi Initiates named Yula Braylon and Lene Kostana infiltrated the Bogan Collection by making their way through Kaneer's window.

Klias Teradine wrote about Kaneer's window in his holojournal.

Sifo-Dyas, an Initiate, discovered Kaneer's window in Teradine's holojournal in 88 BBY. He then persuaded Dooku, a fellow Initiate, to secretly enter the Bogan Collection. Dooku employed Shifting Sand, a meditation technique, to gain access to Kaneer's window. He accomplished this by sliding sand between the vault door and the wall, which broke the door's lock. Subsequently, Restelly Quist, a Jedi librarian, caught the Initiates after they had entered the Bogan Collection, and Yoda, the Jedi Grand Master, reprimanded them.

Kostana, who had become a Jedi Master, later inquired about how Dooku and Sifo-Dyas managed to get inside, and Yoda responded that they had gone through Kaneer's window. Kostana believed that the entrance had been sealed off since she and Braylon had used it, but Braylon disputed this. Dooku later told his sister, Jenza, about this incident via a holo-letter. Around 23 BBY, Dooku provided data disks containing his conversations with Jenza to Asajj Ventress, his newly appointed Sith assassin, as part of her investigation to find Jenza. Ventress then listened to the message that mentioned Kaneer's window.

Behind the scenes

Kaneer's window made an appearance in a flashback within the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, which was written by Cavan Scott and released on April 30, 2019. The audio drama's script release on October 1 of the same year confirmed the spelling of Kaneer's window.
