Kahranna

Kahranna was a Human female living in the Refugee Sector on Nar Shaddaa, the largest moon orbiting the planet Nal Hutta. This took place in the year 3951 BBY. She, along with her family, had become refugees due to the impact of the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War. A transport pilot had stranded Kahranna and her family on the moon, leaving them in dire straits. Desperate to escape Nar Shaddaa with her family, she had engaged Planore for assistance. However, Planore failed to deliver on his promises, forcing Kahranna to resort to begging for help until Meetra Surik, who happened to be visiting the moon, intervened. Subsequently, Surik arranged for her and her family to be transported to Telos IV after enlisting the aid of the Ithorian courier Lasavvou, explaining their situation.

Biography

Kahranna, a Human [female](/article/gender-legends], was a refugee displaced by the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War. She found herself, along with her family, residing in the Refugee Sector of Nar Shaddaa, which is the largest moon orbiting Nal Hutta, around the time of 3951 BBY in the galactic year. They had been left on the so-called "Smuggler's Moon" by a pilot they had hired to provide transport. Kahranna later engaged with a sentient being named Planore, who offered a referral to a pilot friend for a fee of fifty credits. Planore claimed this friend could transport them off-world for 500 credits, but he hadn't yet fulfilled his promise.

During this time, Meetra Surik, a former Jedi Knight, was visiting the moon while searching for Jedi Master Zez-Kai Ell. She encountered Kahranna, who inquired if Surik was the spacer she was expecting. Upon learning she was not, Kahranna recounted her predicament with Planore, a situation Surik immediately recognized as a scam. Distressed, Kahranna pleaded for Surik's assistance, which the former Jedi Knight agreed to provide. Later, Surik successfully persuaded an Ithorian courier named Lasavvou to transport Kahranna and her family to Telos IV in exchange for help with his departure fee.

Personality and traits

Kahranna's deep love for her family fueled her desperation to get them off Nar Shaddaa and into a better life. Despite her naivety in trusting a stranger on the Smuggler's Moon, she suspected a scam but felt compelled to take the risk for a chance to escape. She had blonde hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion.

Equipment

Kahranna's attire consisted of light-colored robes, complemented by a belt and a pair of knee-high boots.

Behind the scenes

Kahranna makes an appearance in the 2004 roleplaying video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, which was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. As the Jedi Exile, the player has the option to interact with Kahranna and accept a quest from her during their visit to Nar Shaddaa. While interacting with Kahranna or completing her quest is not strictly necessary for progressing the game's story, doing so will increase the Exchange criminal organization's awareness of the player's activities on the moon, which is essential for advancing the plot.

Alternative outcomes

Another way to complete the quest involves convincing Fassa to provide transport for Kahranna and her family. The player also has the option to impersonate the expected spacer, potentially convincing her to hand over the 500 credits for the transport or claiming that the fees have increased to 800 credits, prompting her to offer 600. Accepting credits from her will result in gaining dark side points. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: Prima Official Game Guide identifies convincing Fassa as the sole outcome, however, with the publishing of The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, the canon outcome was established as the one described in this article.
