Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station

The Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station, situated on Talus, served as a biological engineering facility where the kahmurra species was artificially created by scientists.

History

The Galactic Empire established the Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station, a laboratory focused on bio-genetics, on the planet Talus within the Corellian system. The facility's research was aimed at the development of a hunting beast capable of traversing any terrain. Imperial scientists successfully engineered a novel animal species, the kahmurra, a genetically modified being originating from the goat-like murras native to Corellia. Nevertheless, the Empire deemed the project unsuccessful, leading to the termination of its funding. The research center was officially shut down, and the kahmurra specimens subsequently escaped into the wilds of Talus. Despite this, some bio-engineers continued their work at the Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station.

During the time of the Galactic Civil War, a resident of Dearic brought a kahmurra to a scientist employed at the biogenetic research station, intending for it to guard his home. However, the creature ended up killing his entire family.

Following the Battle of Yavin, Jabba the Hutt sent an assassin with orders to eliminate the scientist in charge of the kahmurra project, but the assassin's mission failed, resulting in their capture within the bio-genetics laboratory. Later, Jabba's lieutenant Yondalla hired a spacer for a mission to retrieve a CorSec prisoner transfer document from the Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station.
