JoKo's Alley, a boisterous commercial area, was situated in the Underlevels of Coruscant, specifically in the vicinity of Dometown. Within JoKo's Alley, one could find establishments such as the Leafy Green tapcaf. This commercial strip had been recently built by 26 ABY.
In that year, Tekli, a Chadra-Fan Jedi, made a trip to JoKo's Alley to rendezvous with an acquaintance. During this visit, she overheard a discussion between two Rodians. They were talking about a Leafy Green employee whom they doubted was truly Human. Tekli, suspecting the individual might be a Yuuzhan Vong disguised as Human via an ooglith masquer, reported the overheard conversation during a Jedi Order meeting. Subsequently, Mara Jade Skywalker, a Jedi Master, along with her nephew Anakin Solo, journeyed to the Leafy Green in JoKo's Alley to investigate and confront the suspected Yuuzhan Vong spy, with the aim of capturing the individual for intelligence purposes.
The location of JoKo's Alley was first introduced in The New Jedi Order: Balance Point, a novel released in 2000 and authored by Kathy Tyers. In The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, a reference book from 2008, a mistake occurred: the entry for the Leafy Green incorrectly referred to JoKo's Alley as Jo'Ko's Alley.
