Jerijador

Jerijador, a planet located within the Calaron sector of the Outer Rim Territories, was abundant with diverse lifeforms and provided a habitable environment for humanoids. Following the Battle of Yavin, a fleet of Imperial warships, under the leadership of Moff Vensell, assembled at Jerijador to prepare for an offensive against the Rebel Alliance. This gathering attracted numerous scavengers seeking to recover the debris left behind by the departing Imperial vessels as they entered hyperspace.

Description

Jerijador, a terrestrial world composed of landmasses and oceans, supported a wide array of life and was considered quite accommodating for humanoids. Situated in the Jerijador system, which is part of the Calaron sector within the Slice region of the Outer Rim Territories.

History

In the period shortly after the Battle of Yavin, amidst the Galactic Civil War fought between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, an Imperial fleet of warships under the command of Moff Vensell used Jerijador as a staging point prior to launching an attack on Rebel forces. Included in this fleet were the Valiant, a warship commanded by Captain Oweg, and the Strike-class medium cruiser known as the Shador.

Following the departure of the Imperial warships from Jerijador via hyperspace, over a dozen scavenger starships—including The Lucky Find, with Captain Sreethyn and the hired Kanda Farral as crew—raced from a nearby planet to collect the refuse left behind by the fleet. With the assistance of four retrieval droids, Farral, wearing a zero-gravity work suit, entered the vacuum of space above Jerijador and began to claim the discarded Imperial goods for Sreethyn's salvage operation.

By 12 ABY, Jerijador was exporting inexpensive shoe kits. One such consignment found its way to Belsavis during the Eye of Palpatine incident.

Behind the scenes

Jerijador was conceived by Greg Gorden for the Imperial Sourcebook, which was initially released by West End Games in October 1989 as a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The Imperial Sourcebook referenced Jerijador in the brief narratives titled "A Salvager's Run" and "The Full Might of the Empire."

Later, Jerijador was among the 200 playable planets featured in the 1998 PC game Star Wars: Rebellion, which provided the planet's sole visual representation, an image that was also used to depict eleven other planets with similar characteristics in the game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, situated the Jerijador system, and consequently the planet itself, in grid square T-9.

Star Wars: Rebellion cartography

The game Star Wars: Rebellion specifies hyperspace travel times between all planets featured. However, some of these times are notably longer than those presented in other Star Wars Legends materials, which seems to imply that the hyperspace times in Star Wars: Rebellion are more reflective of game mechanics than actual travel durations. The following table shows Jerijador's intra-sector hyperspace times and distance from Coruscant according to Star Wars: Rebellion when using the game's fastest capital ship hyperdrive. The chart includes only planets canonically located in the Calaron sector within the Legends continuity, with the exception of Coruscant.
