Jem Lavar

Jem Lavar was a Sullustan male slicer (a male of his species) who operated during the Galactic Civil War time period.

Biography

After the Battle of Yavin which took place in 0 BBY, Jem Lavar made his home on Tatooine. He engaged in freelance slicing, providing his services to criminals, the Galactic Empire, and the Rebel Alliance. In 1 ABY, Imperial Commander Barrezz and Rebel Captain Bastra were both searching for an important cargo that had been smuggled from Tansarii Point Station to Tatooine. Agents working for both the Rebels and the Empire obtained the inventory list for the smuggled goods, but they needed a slicer to access the data. The spacers sought out Jem Lavar, rescuing him from a group of gunrunners. Ultimately, Lavar decrypted the data and discovered that Barrezz and Bastra were actually after a droid that had been sold to Watto, a junk dealer.
