Jedi Scout Fighter

Jek-14 served as the pilot of a Jedi Scout Fighter when Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Rusty, and their Padawans, all Jedi Masters, journeyed to retrieve the holocrons from the Jedi Temple as the Galactic Empire rose to power. Following the Battle of Yavin, he piloted it once more, after Luke Skywalker lost the holocrons to Darth Vader. Soon after, he employed it to rescue R2-D2 from a false operation, subsequently traveling to the concealed Rebel base situated on Mustafar. Following this, he utilized the Scout Fighter to aid Luke Skywalker in an assault on an Imperial fleet.

Characteristics

The Jedi Scout Fighter is equipped with folding wings, four laser cannons, two missile launchers, a rear turret, and an astromech socket. Its cockpit provides seating for two individuals: a pilot and a rear gunner. Furthermore, the cockpit is designed to detach from the main body of the ship, functioning as an escape pod.

Behind the scenes

The Jedi Scout Fighter was first seen in the animated short films of The New Yoda Chronicles, but its design originated from concept artists involved in The Clone Wars series. It was conceived as part of a humorous endeavor known as "The Alphabet Project," where the ship symbolized the letter "E."

In the LEGO Star Wars The New Yoda Chronicles video game adaptation, these ships appear as enemy combatants in the Dark Side version of the Battle of Kashyyyk. In the Light Side campaign, they are also available as a playable vehicle during a space engagement against HMP droid gunships and Kom'rk-class fighter/transports.
