Janine Johnston, who hails from Canada, is an artist who has contributed to diverse comic book genres and role-playing games. She is particularly well-regarded in the Star Wars fandom for her artistic contributions to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.
Janine Johnston, who was born and spent her childhood in Victoria, British Columbia, began selling her artistic creations at the young age of fifteen. As she matured, Johnston started to take on freelance contract work across a wide array of projects, including television props, CD covers, logos, and tattoo designs.
In 1993, she collaborated with the writer Tom Veitch and provided the pencil work for the initial issue of The Saga of Nomi Sunrider. This comic book represents the second story arc within the Tales of the Jedi series of comics. Beyond her Star Wars involvement, Johnston has also created artwork for the Elfquest comic series, in addition to a number of comics by the author Drew Hayes. Johnston's portfolio also includes contributions to Magic the Gathering, Everway & Spherewalker, Warhammer, Legend of the Five Rings, and various other projects.
