Ira Keeler was employed by Industrial Light & Magic as a model fabricator. His film credits are numerous, including Lucasfilm's productions of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. He also contributed to the Indiana Jones franchise, specifically Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Keeler's work extended to the original Star Tours attraction, where he also had a small on-screen role in the ride's film. He played a crew member who quickly moves aside to avoid a runaway StarSpeeder 3000. It was commonly, but incorrectly, believed that George Lucas was the actor in this scene.
