Invasion of Dearic

The Dearic Invasion represented a military operation conducted by the Alliance to Restore the Republic aimed at recapturing the Talusian urban center of Dearic during 1 ABY. This offensive was motivated by a desire to liberate the Talusian population from the occupying Imperial forces. The Alliance's main objective revolved around the elimination of a high-ranking Imperial General, whose influence was critical to the Empire's regional command structure. The Alliance believed that his removal would severely impair Imperial military activities in the region. Due to the substantial Imperial garrison, including a full stormtrooper battalion, the Alliance determined that a full-scale invasion was the only viable method for achieving this objective.

Upon receiving the designated signal, the Alliance launched coordinated attacks on multiple fronts within the city. These assaults primarily targeted the western starport, the eastern hotel, and the southern theater. However, Imperial intelligence operatives had previously compromised the Alliance's operational plans. Consequently, the Imperials established strategic defensive positions, creating significant obstacles that impeded the Rebel advance. Intense combat ensued near the starport's perimeter and in the vicinity of the hotel. Both sides sustained considerable losses, with numerous soldiers experiencing injuries and declining morale. Medical personnel provided immediate assistance to the wounded, while designated troopers worked to uplift and encourage the disheartened soldiers. As the Imperial defensive lines weakened, the Imperial troopers were progressively compelled to withdraw further into the city's interior, with the remaining Imperial squadron eventually retreating to the General's location.

In a final act of resistance, the Imperials mounted a valiant defense, exerting maximum effort to maintain their defensive integrity. However, their concentrated position left them vulnerable. Despite incurring significant casualties, the Rebels maintained a numerical advantage. The remaining Imperials were subjected to intense fire from troopers and tanks, leading to the collapse of their defensive structures. While the Imperials inflicted substantial casualties on the Alliance forces, the Imperial General was ultimately killed. Following the conclusion of the battle, the Imperials attempted a withdrawal, which proved to be a difficult undertaking. Many Imperials were killed during the battle's aftermath and their retreat attempt, although a small number managed to escape.
