The Imperial Outpost situated on Lok was a formidable fortification constructed by the Galactic Empire. Its purpose was to extend their dominion over planets with less advanced civilizations.
Following the Battle of Yavin, General Otto assumed command of this strategic military base. At one point, a violent assault was launched against the outpost by a mercenary warlord. General Otto successfully defended the base, leading to the capture of the warlord, who was subsequently imprisoned within the Imperial Prison on Dathomir.
During 1 ABY, the Empire captured a Rebel Corellian corvette and devised a plan to load it with explosives, intending to send it crashing into Centerpoint Station within the Corellian system. The intention was to frame the Rebel Alliance for the devastating attack. Suspecting General Otto's involvement in supplying the explosives for the corvette, Master Sergeant Crowley dispatched an agent to the Imperial outpost located on Lok. The Rebel agent successfully acquired crucial data, including the location of the stolen corvette.
Around that same period, the retired Imperial Naval Captain Boyrake was present at the outpost. Simultaneously, an unidentified spacer managed to infiltrate the base and pilfered a piece of shock trooper armor.
Also in that year, Han Solo directed Rebel operatives to disrupt the Imperial outpost, aiming to demonstrate to the Empire the challenges of maintaining a presence on Lok. The Rebel team infiltrated the base, disabling the power generators and replacing Imperial banners with Rebel symbols. They also launched an attack on General Otto, who narrowly survived the assault.
