Imperial Leviathan

The Imperial Leviathans, colossal starship-factories stretching 5,000 meters in length, served as the forerunners to the more widely recognized World Devastators, possessing the capability to manufacture a range of vehicles and starships.

Characteristics

Internally, these vessels housed the most advanced foundries and assembly lines of their era. Their primary role involved the recycling of ingested materials. On average, these systems could generate, within a single hour, either ten speeder bikes, five AT-ST's, three TIE/LN starfighters, or one AT-AT.

The Leviathans frequently saw deployment after the Empire had secured its presence on a newly conquered planet. They functioned by processing locally sourced materials, including minerals, various metals, derelict vehicles, and the remains of old structures, to rapidly produce necessary equipment and vehicles. Nevertheless, in comparison to the subsequent World Devastators, the Leviathans had limitations, such as a comparatively limited arsenal and internal spaces often congested with numerous transports and shuttles tasked with gathering raw resources.

History

Furthermore, the extensive reliance on automation and droids led to vulnerabilities in their systems, which New Republic operatives increasingly targeted for exploitation. Famously, two well-known droids speculated about the possibility of developing a virus within the Leviathan's programming to initiate a self-destruct sequence. However, they also calculated that the probability of surviving the successful implantation of such a virus was exceedingly low, estimated at less than 1 in 3,720.
